The winners of the 2022 “Best New Band,” award from the Washington Blues Society, Kim & Brian, have released an extraordinary EP “In the Valley Of The Blues” after a successful crowdfunding campaign from their legion of supportive fans. The official release is at the Spanish Ballroom and will be presented by the Blues Vespers. The new EP from Kim & Brian is a brilliant fusion of musical influences across a gamut of styles, mixing blues with country, jazz, soul, and classic R&B. A tasty appetizer leaving the listener wanting for more. The five-song collection is exactly what you would expect from such a dedicated and talented singer/songwriter team, who are also acclaimed guitarists, and their impeccable rhythm section of Jerome Gates on Bass and award-winning drummer Andrew Cloutier (Left Hand Smoke, Lee Oskar). Lonesome & Pine is a folk-blues duo that hails from Seattle, WA. Their music is inspired by the rich tapestry of blues and folk music of the American South, the open roads of the American West, and the tangible comforts of home. Their duo features Steve Itterly, an award-winning songster and country-blues guitarist, and Michael J. Nichols, a vibrant and colorful harmonica virtuoso. Together they capture the true spirit of down-home porch music that can be both boot-stomping fun, and deeply soul moving.
