“Booty-shaking contemporary blues with wit and extraordinary substance” says Dave Rubin, a Keeping the Blues Alive Award recipient in Journalism. The CD Woodbury Trio have been performing in the Pacific Northwest’s top blues clubs and festivals since forming in late 2015. Guitarist, singer, and songwriter CD Woodbury plays a muscular, expressive style with no direct influences.

Clint is always backed by a dynamic and musical rhythm section on bass and drums. Winner in the ‘Best Band’ category by the Washington Blues Society in its 2019 International Blues Challenge competition. From a reputation as an ace sideman and “The Northwest’s best kept secret” in the Pacific NW blues scene; CD Woodbury is emerging as an internationally recognized singer, songwriter, and guitarist. The CD Woodbury Band album “Monday Night!” charted internationally in its genre, including 30 weeks at #1 for the Roots Radio Report’s Washington State independent radio chart and peaking at #8 on the international independent blues radio charts. CD Woodbury has eleven Best of the Blues awards from the Seattle based Washington Blues Society including Blues Performer, Songwriter, NW Recording, and has won the Electric Blues Guitar BB Award five times in the past decade.

2022 Washington Blues Society Hall of Fame inductee, CD Woodbury has transformed himself from journeyman sideman and “the NW’s best kept secret” into an internationally recognized rising star of the Pacific NW blues scene with his work as singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Two studio albums, “Monday Night!” and “World’s Gone Crazy” charted on international independent radio. CD Woodbury has thirteen Best of the Blues awards from the Seattle based Washington Blues Society including performer of the year, songwriter, NW recording, new blues band, and is (at the time of this writing) the only six time winner for electric blues guitar.

C.D. Woodbury has performed in Texas Roadhouses and in Stadiums. He has performed for two US Presidents, foreign dignitaries, and Jimi’s music for the Hendrix family. He has appeared onstage with musicains as diverse as international blues stars like Sugaray Rayford, and Wee Willie Walker; Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists Lee Oskar, and Roger Fisher; and American Idol’s Sanjaya. He has also had the honor of jamming with jazz legends Andrew Hill, Joshua Redmon, and Andrew Cyrille. His bands have opened for AWB, Hamilton Loomis, Elvin Bishop, Allen Stone, and many others. Other bands he has been a member of include Polly O’Keary and the Rhythm Method, Randy Oxford’s All Star Slam, and (former Roomful of Blues vocalist and harp ace) Mark Dufresne Band.

Along with the current Trio of Matt Williams on Drums (Keb Mo’, Bobby Caldwell, Little Bill and the Bluenotes) and veteran NW bassist and recording engineer Robert Baker, the band has been continuing to excite audiences all over the Pacific NW and hopes to bring the live experience to their radio and internet fans all over the world soon. Their most recent album “World’s Gone Crazy” made the year end charts on the Roots Music Radio Report for Blues and Contemporary Blues and was the longest continuous #1 album for the Washington State chart that year, and the album appeared on other prominent college and international charts as well.

While their set primarily leans to a contemporary blues audience they’ve built over the years, this is a trio that slips in pop, rock, New Orleans, jazz, and roots influences at the drop of a hat; easily shifting from the very traditional to the surprising.
