We look forward to seeing you there! \nThis annual celebration has grown into one of the most highly anticipated musical and social events of the year\, both for SSBA members and the greater South Sound blues community. For the 6th year in a row\, the party will take place at this iconic downtown venue\, known for its excellent acoustics and elegant atmosphere.\n     \nThe 2026 headliners are Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle. This dynamic Portland-based band wows audiences everywhere they play\, including all the major Pacific Northwest festivals like Sunbanks\, Winthrop\, and the Portland Waterfront Festival. Leader Ben Rice is a three-time Blues Music Award nominee\, celebrated equally for his guitar playing\, singing\, and songwriting. While he began in traditional blues\, over the years he’s expanded his sound with soul\, R&B\, folk\, and country influences to connect with an ever-growing audience. His 6-piece\, The PDX Hustle\, blends horns\, vocal harmonies\, and keyboards to capture the raw energy of Rice’s original music and delivers it with a commitment and drive that has been igniting audiences across the Pacific Northwest and beyond. \n\nOpening the show will be the duo of Mark Dufresne and Billy Stapleton\, two of the most acclaimed and recognizable musicians on the PNW blues scene. Mark’s vocals and harmonica playing and Billy’s traditional electric and slide guitar work have received multiple Best of the Blues Awards from the Washington Blues Society\, and both are members of their Hall of Fame. They have collaborated extensively over the years in various bands\, but hearing them combine their talents in this “stripped down” duo format will be a special treat for all blues fans.
