In addition to Lisa\, the featured artists are: \nKaren Lovely\, nominated multiple times for Contemporary Female Blues Artist in the Blues Music Awards\, and called “a first class vocalist” by Art Tipaldi of Blues Revue\, \nAND \nBen Rice\, also a multiple-time Blues Music Awards nominee\, and in 2015\, winner of Best Guitarist at the International Blues Challenge. When not working with the Portland Blues Showcase\, Ben also leads his one six piece band\, Ben Rice and the Hustle\, and appears as a special guest with Curtis Salgado. Ben and his trio opened for ZZ Top on their most recent PNW tour. \nThis powerful Northwest crew has taken on crowds all over the American West to Europe\, delivering electrifying blues and roots music everywhere they go. Lisa\, Karen and Ben will be joined by Jason “JT” Thomas\, a Cascade Blues Association nominee for Guitar Player of the Year and Dave Melyan\, the highly sought-after drummer perhaps best known for his work with Portland favorites The Insomniacs\, among many others. \nThese five are the cream of the crop of Portland’s blues scene. We are honored to welcome them all to Tacoma on May 25. It’s going to be an incredible show!
